Teaching the Art and Science of Wilderness Survival

Picture
4 Elements Earth Education (4EEE) offers a range of Earth-centered educational programs for youth, families, and adults. 4EEE teaches the art and science of wilderness survival through outdoor adventure, storytelling, land stewardship, and hands-on development of traditional skills such as fire making, shelter building, animal tracking, flint knapping, hide tanning, and so much more. Founded by Rick Berry in 2010, 4EEE and the Fox Walkers Nature Programs bring the timeless teachings of Tom Brown, Jr. and Grandfather Stalking Wolf to life in the hands, hearts, and minds of young people and their parents.

Drawing on indigenous teaching techniques, 4EEE curricula are designed to subtly engage students in a spontaneous flow of interactive learning opportunities that:
  • Strengthen powers of concentration, observation, and endurance
  • Provide access to deep reservoirs of self-confidence and self-knowing
  • Cultivate intimate, respect-full relationships between students, the Earth, and all who dwell upon her
  • Empower, inspire, and prepare students to become active, responsible caretakers of the Earth
Currently, 4EEE offers programs for youth, families, adults, and mentors.
